Cannot print page in IE or Edge

Jan 30, 2018

I have the learner fill in text entries on a page, and then I want them to print the page.  I use window.print(); on a print button, and it works fine in Google Chrome.  However, it does not print in MS Edge or MS Internet Explore.  I get the print dialog window, but when I click the Print button, I get a chime at the printer, but nothing prints.  I looked in my printer window, and nothing is there. I'm using Storyline 360. Any suggestions?

Hi Diane.  I'm sorry you're seeing this behavior in IE and Edge.  We've documented an issue where HTML5 output is unable to print the page in those two browsers.

The workaround currently is to use another browser if you need to do a print from your slides.  *Note:  The Print Results function still works from quiz results slides.

I've tagged this discussion so we can update you with any fixes that go out.

I see.  I'm sorry this change in IE has gotten in the way, Diane.

Print Results is a built-in feature that can be enabled on the results slide.  The results slide is used to tally a user's score from quiz questions that are included in the course.  Print Results generates a report.html that will show the question detail as well as how the user answered.

Hey Diane. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 18 for Storyline 360! It includes new fixes - check them all out here.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where in HTML5 output, the Print function was not working in Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge.

Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
