I've inserted a few shapes on my slide that when the user hovers over them, a caption appears with an explanation. Only problem is the caption isn't showing over the top of the other shapes, it's behind.
I tried editing the states, and clicking the caption bubble and clicking "bring to front", but that's only worked on 2 of 6 of them?!
Oh sorry misread your post so you have created States with the text...Can you upload the slide? Or you might need to change state of the shapes on the right hand side to hidden when shapes on left hand side hovered
Sometimes I had shapes with states that were copied over not work as intended thus recreating the behavior you described. A good fix is deleting and recreating the targeted shape.
Wendy, that's a good approach. I was having a hard time figuring out what the desired outcome was for Meg. I added another layer and got around the over\under issue but, it didn't seem to work for her. I think your file does the trick.
as you well know there are a myriad of ways to achieve the same outcome in SL...that's the beauty of the app - my motto 'whatever works' - hope it does for Meg

Hi Meg
check where the caption is in the timeline. Move the captions up so they are above the shapes - hope that works.
Otherwise do you want to upload the slide and we can take a look at it for you
Hey Wendy..
You're helping me a lot this week! The caption isn't showing on the timeline?

Here you go...
Click on "AH" on the right, then NEXT and you'll see that screen.

OK, it think I got it a little closer and sorry if I didn't ; )
I created and alternate layer to compensate for the size of the states which made it tricky to get the timeline positioning to work. I hope it helps.
Still having the same problem :(
Thanks for having a look though.
Hi Meg
I would probably have the captions as separate objects with a hidden initial state, triggered to show/hide on hover.
See attached.
