I sent a .story file for my colleague to do review, and he installed Storyline on his machine. When he opens my story file the captions look all funny compared to my system:
I've tried updating the graphics drivers but that didn't solve the problem. The issue was that screen magnification was set to 125% - a feature of Windows
Articulate does not properly support this it seems.
So, the solution to the strange captions being cut off in the corners problem is to open Control Panel | Display and click Make text and other items larger. Then set the size to Smaller - 100% (Default).

Note: this was not a problem on a different system, even with 125% enlargement everything was working fine.
