Hello Everyone,
I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 77, we've included important fixes and new features.
One of the enhancements we've included:
- Closed Captions disappear when timeline is paused using a trigger
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!

Hi Leslie,
where can I download the last version, that didn't produce the problem?
I'don't remember...but i think Storyline 3 projects can’t be opened or edited with Storyline 2, and S2 can create closed captions
Hello Andy and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
Storyline 3 projects are not compatible with Storyline 2, so that does not sound like it will work.
We do have this conversation tied to the report so that we can update you here when we can, but I do not have a timeline to provide.
Hi Martin,
Sounds like you would like to roll-back to a previous update?
I've opened up a support case on your behalf so that one of our support engineers can take a look and help you out.
So, be on the lookout for an e-mail soon.
I just did another quick test to check out the latest update. If this note was mentioned previously and I missed it somehow, my apologies. The CCing disappears when you use a VIDEO file. It remains on screen if you use an AUDIO file.
Why Storyline programming would treat the media differently is a little odd.
I just posted a note but it ended up in another comment.... Did a quick test with latest update.
CCing disappears with VIDEO being paused. CCing stays on screen with AUDIO clips.
Thanks Bob. That is what we have reported :)
Thanks Leslie! Crack the whip on those programmers.
Thanks Leslie
Hello Alyssa,
Any update on this issue? When can we have any resolution on this?

I have just discovered that it is the HTML5 output that gives me the caption problem, if I publish to Flash also, the captions stay up on movie pause. Unfortunately our client can't use Flash. Hope this helps
For your information: I produced and published my closed captions from Storyline3 update 3.4.15731.0, and this produced the caption disppearing issue, I then sent my file to a colleague who is using 3.3.15007.0, he published my file and confirmed that the captions now did not disappear.
Thanks so much Andy! Certainly helpful and is precisely what we have filed.
Hi Leslie
Any news on an update for the Closed captions issue?
Hi Andy,
I appreciate you checking in. Our team is still looking into a fix for this one, but we'll let you know as soon as we can.
Hi, folks. I'm excited to let you all know that Update 22 for Storyline 360 is live!
We fixed the issue where closed captions disappeared when a slide was paused (and sometimes they disappeared or overlapped when replaying a slide).
Check out all the new features and fixes here, and here's how to update Storyline 360 to enjoy everything this release has to offer. Be sure to let us know what you think!
Hi Katie. Is Storyline 3 updated also?
Hi Katie, as Andy said, my problems are with Storyline 3. I use an old, dated version, to avoid problems with captions.
Thank you
Appreciate you checking in, Andy and Cristina!
This isn't fixed in Storyline 3 as of yet, but I promise we'll share all updates here once we have them and update our Storyline 3 Version History page. If we can be of any other help, please don't hesitate to let us know!
Hi
It looks like 3 months ago this issue was fixed in the 360 version. I can't trace any change in the update history for Storyline 3. Have we got a fix yet for this problem in Storyline 3 or is this another issue that there is no plan to fix in three and just expecting that people will upgrade to 360?
Hi Lorraine,
We're finishing up work on the next update of Storyline 3, so as soon as that's ready we'll share details here. As Katie mentioned, you'll see the same fixes in Storyline 3 that have already been released to Storyline 360.
Hey everybody. I'm excited to let you know that we released update 6 for Storyline 3! It includes enhanced features and fixes - Check them out here.
One fix addressed an issue where closed caption text disappeared when the timeline was paused.

Morning Crystal
That’s great news. Thanks.
Have a great day.

Hi,
I was very happy to know this wonderful new, so I downloaded the new version but...I am very sad because the function is not yet performed and I'm wasting a lot of time to install and uninstall...download...
Does anyone still have the same problem (Captions disappear when timeline is paused)?
I'm trying 3.6.18134.0 version
