I'm not sure how to import a new captions file. I'm guessing it's not Insert > Caption.
Also, this might clarify what I'm trying to do. I thought Captions in the player menu would allow me to host a transcript of a slide's audio. Is this correct?
Ahh, I can see how that's misleading! The "caption" you're referring to is actually just a text box in the form of a chat bubble. If you'd like to use the built-in closed captions feature, you'll first have to import an audio or video file.

Hi Colin,
The closed captioning button will only show in the player if there's a captions file on that specific slide.
Did you try importing or creating a new captions file?
