I'm creating several projects which include Captivate swf files. When I set the slide trigger for 'When Media Completes' it will not go to the next slide in Storyline. Is there a way for me to work around this?
Thanks for reaching out here. It seems like you've got the right set up, from your description. It might be best if we could take a look into your file. If you’re able to share it here in the forums you can include it by utilizing the Add Attachment button at the bottom of the reply window, or if you need to share privately you can send it along to our Support Engineers here. They’re accessible 24/7, and if you want to let me know the case number I can follow along.
Thanks for your help. Currently I placed a workaround that directs the student to click a link in the player to move to the next slide, but that’s not ideal.
Hi Donald, I took a look into your file, and I noticed that your SWF file contains interactive elements in which you require the learner to click 'Continue' at various points throughout the interaction. If your SWF file contains interactive elements, Storyline will play your SWF file independently of the timeline of the slide (more info on that here). In this case, advancing the slide 'when the media completes' is not an option. You'll need to add the next button on the slide so the learner can advance forward.
Perhaps one workaround might be disabling the next button for a given time period, like 20 seconds. That way, you can be sure the learner is forced to view the majority of the interaction before they can move to the next slide.
Thank you Alyssa. Due to screen resolution and real estate, I'll stick with the link I've placed in the top of the player. It looks like I was on the right track!

I would encourage you to share your perspective with our product development team. I've seen this issue come up a few other times in the forums, so it'll be good to add your experience on to their reports!
