CBT created and published with the latest update supporting IOS9

Mar 17, 2016

Hey everyone!

I use StoryLine 2 on a daily basis but i'm having an issue I cant seem to get around.  I'm trying to link the story.html file to a QR code so its playable on mobile devices but I cant seem to get it to work.  I have the latest SL2 update and the latest IOS version so in theory it should go?!?

My projects are being held on a sharepoint site that requires a login, so after scanning the code it takes me to the login and times out :-/

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Carlton

Hi Carlton!

You should be sharing the link to the story.html file. Is this how you've built your QR code?

Here’s how Storyline determines which version of your content to display when learners view it:

  • Learners will see the Flash version of your course if their browser supports it.
  • If learners are using iPads or Android tablets and you selected the Articulate Mobile Player (AMP) option when you published, the course will launch in AMP. (If they don't have the app installed, they'll be prompted to install it.)
  • If learners are using iPads or Android tablets and you didn't select the AMP option when you published, but you did select HTML5, the HTML5 output will launch in their mobile browser.
  • If learners are using a browser without Flash and you marked the HTML5 option, they'll see the HTML5 output. (For a list of supported browsers, click here.)

I've linked the story.html file but it doesn't pull anything through the QR scanner.  The only one that does is the story_html5.html file.  I made sure to publish with AMP selected as well as HTML5.  But nothing happens via the app on my ipad, when I link the amplaunch file it asks if I want to launch the app but then fails to load.  :(

Hi Carlton!

Perhaps you are running into a different issue.

Apple made some changes to the way apps launch in iOS 9, so your Articulate Storyline 2 courses may not launch in the Articulate Mobile Player as you'd expect. We added support for iOS 9 in Update 7 for Storyline 2. See this article for details on how to update your Storyline software and your published courses.
