Certificate of Completion (Articulate Storyline)

Dec 28, 2020

I am new to using Articulate Storyline. Has there been any update to making it easier to print a certificate of completion (after the e-learning course has been completed successfully)? I see articles, but they are over 3 years old. I'm pretty sure there have been some updates.

Hi Oscar!

Thanks for reaching out to the community about this.  Love to help out in any way I can, but first, I'd like to get a better understanding as to what exactly your struggles are with printing the certs.

  • What version of Storyline are you using?  If you're not sure where to find this, open Storyline, go to the Help tab on the ribbon and click About Articulate Storyline. From there, you can see your version details on the screen that appears.
  • Can you provide some more details as to what or where the pain points are?
  • Can you walk me through your current cert print setup and tell me what or where you'd like to see improvement?

Also, did you come across this post? They are trying to create a certificate of completion for a course that will be published to web.  I know it's from a couple years back, but hopefully the thread will provide some helpful info!

In the meantime, I'll do some more digging to see if I can find any other updates!

Hi Oscar,

Thanks for reaching out! Articulate apps don't currently support certificates of completion. We generally see this as a function of learning management systems (LMSs). However, if you're not using an LMS, you may be able to modify the report.html file in your published output to make it look like a certificate.

Rebecca also posted an excellent discussion where using Javascript can help you accomplish that goal! Hopefully others can also chime in with their suggestions!
