Certificate of Completion - Moodle 2.5

Mar 16, 2017

Hi All,

We are just setting up our course on Moodle and have 11 articulate storyline files which we can save as scorm packages.

There are self assessments within these lessons but in order to get a cert of completion learners just need to go through each package from start to finish.

I'm wondering if

1. Is there certain settings I need to complete when publishing the files for saving to LMS

2. How do I set up Moodle to ensure that learners can save their cert only when they have gone through each lesson.

Apologies if this has been dealt with before, I've looked at a few sites but can't follow any of them as most are based on exam results :-(

Thanks so much,

L

Hi there Lorr!

Thanks for your post! When publishing content to be uploaded into an LMS, you'll want to follow these steps. Since you said there are assessments within each file, I would use the Passed/Failed or Passed/Incomplete reporting options.

And in regards to setting up Moodle to ensure learners can save their certificate only when they have gone through each lesson, I'll leave that to your fellow Moodle users in the community. This thread and this one might be a good place to start.

Hi Lorr,

I'm not sure if there are particular settings in Moodle you'll need to account for, but within Storyline you'll want to look at publishing for LMS and I'd choose the option to pass the completion based on number of slides viewed - and set it to X out of Y slides that you would require the user to see.  My guess is that Moodle isn't going to show the certificate of completion till they reach the completion requirement?
