Change character throughout the project

Dec 24, 2013

Is it possible?

I read a tutorial about this and I can't find it any more.

Thanks and Merry Chistmas to you all.

Hi Arduino,

Merry Christmas to you as well!

I can't find the tutorial so quickly, but there are few ways of achieving this:

Let's say that at the beginning of your course, you'd ask the user to select one of 4 different characters:

  • Insert 4 characters in your project, having 4 different states.

On the "select your character slide"

  • Create a true/false variable for each of the characters, and set the initial value to "false"
  • Create triggers that change the variable value to true when the user made a character selection.

On other slides

  • Insert just a single character (with 4 states)
  • Create 4 triggers at the beginning of the timeline to show the state based on the character selection made on the previous slide. example: change state of character 1 to "Rutwin" when (variable) rutwin is equal to true

I know this isn't a full-fledged tutorial, but I hope it's enough to get you started!

Kind regards,

Rutwin

Hi Arduino,

It looks like Rutwin has pointed you in the right direction, and I wanted to share some other information on changing the states of characters:
