Change Image Function

Nov 28, 2018

I often use the change image function in Articulate as it easily replaces one image with a new one. I just noticed that if I then try and save that image from within Articulate it saves the original image not the new swapped in one. It seems that the the original image is still somehow retained by Articulate rather than completely replaced by the new one. I do a lot of image changes so it concerns me that the old image is being retained. I wonder if it might add to the file size of the project too. Were you aware of this?

Hi William,

Are you using Storyline 360? I tested this myself just now, and after I changed the image I did a Save As of my new picture. When I went to insert that image back into Storyline or look at it within the file explorer, it was the new image as I expected.

Perhaps you have an additional step that I missed? I recorded a quick Peek to walk you through my steps.

Your steps look fine but I was working with an existing Storyline 360 file that needed some changes to images. I did not design the file but when I tried to save the picture I ended up with a different one. My colleague has had a similar experience. See my Peek (attached).

Hi William,

I wanted to send you a quick note about today's update to Storyline 360, build 3.24.17733.0 as I thought you may be interested in the newest feature - Media Library, which allows you to manage all the assets for your project in one place. You can read more details here and please let us know how it's working for you!
