Create a rectangular shape around the word or text (written in black) you want change the opacity after a click.
Fill this shape in white color with 100% transparency and no line.
Create a new state for this shape (i.e. called 50%) where the transparency is set to 50 %. Add a trigger on the shape to change state to 50% when clicked.
The text seems to be written in light grey after the click.

I've tried a solution.

Is it clear for you ?
Yes, this sounds like a workarons that works..
Thanks!
Hi Frank,
I just wanted to welcome you to Heroes! Please let us know if you need anything else.
Nice workaround Al!
How do you make the shape 50% transparent in Storyline 2?
Hi Scott! You would want to utilize the fill formatting options on your shape. Check out this tutorial.
Thanks,
I was looking right at the screen and missed it.
I would like to reduce the transparency of text without clicking. Is it possible?
Hi Chetana,
Can you tell me more about what you're looking to do? Is the text on the slide, or sitting inside a marker caption?
If you have a sample slide going, share it here so I can take a look!
