I have a number of multiple choice slides where I want to display feedback after an incorrect answer. The feedback is pretty lengthy and I am noticing that the feedback dialog always stays the same size, but shrinks the font down to fit into that size box. Is there any way to increase the size of the feedback box, so it doesn't shrink the font down to an unreadable size?
Hi Whitney - you can control that by going to your Feedback Masters. Click View > Feedback Masters and there you'll be able to change the way each feedback layout looks. The topmost slide is the "master" and that's where the box is coming from. You could change the size there, or you could remove it and then create a separate box on each of the layouts. Or you could even remove it from all the Feedback Masters and paste it into the individual slide layers if you want. Here's a bit more on how to work with slide masters: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/using-feedback-masters.aspx
That was very helpful and thank you very much. I noticed, however, that when I made the changes to the feedback master it didn't populate throughout all the slides. I had to go in and change the layout master for "correct" answers as well as for "incorrect" ones.
I seem to have to go through one by one and apply the new layout to each slide layer (correct and incorrect) in each individual slide to make the changes throughout the whole course. Is there a way to apply these changes globally throughout the course that I missed? I tried to follow the instructions in that great reference page you sent by changing the Feedback Master, but for some reason the changes did not populate through all the slides.
Hi Whitney! You know what might've happened is, if you'd already made some customizations to those individual slide layers before you modified the feedback master, then Storyline assumes you want to keep those changes that you made, rather than apply changes from the feedback master.
That said, it's a little klugey that when you click the Reset button on the ribbon, it doesn't seem to have the expected effect. Clicking Reset should allow you to clear any changes to the location/formatting of the placeholder elements, and revert back to whatever the master slide contains. I'll go ahead & report that to our dev team for a closer look.
That seems to be exactly what happened. I had made some changes to the slide layers before I modified the feedback master. It seems, however, that saving and closing the project and then re-opening it allowed the changes to propagate across all slides as I had desired. Perhaps we just came to a better understanding of my wishes...
Ah, thanks for letting me know! That's still kind of odd behavior so I think I'll still submit it to our developers as an anomaly. It seems a little confusing that the changes would not appear when they're expected to. Thanks again Whitney.
