Hi Lucie,

Thanks for sharing your screenshots. By the looks of your theme, the choice highlight should be gray. Would you mind sharing your .story file with us so we can take a closer look? If you'd rather share it privately, you can certainly send over it using this form. If you do decide to open a case, please be sure to share your case number with me so I can follow along, as well. :)

Hi Alyssa

Noticed this in the description of theme colours SL2 vs SL360.

Storyline 2:

Custom 2 is the default color for check marks in check box styles 3 and 4, and dots in radio button styles 3 and 4.

Storyline 360:

Custom 2 is the default color for check marks in check box styles 3 and 4, and dots in radio button styles 3 and 4. It’s also the hover color for drag items, drop-down questions, and Likert scale questions

So in Lucie's case it should be green not grey as per her screenshot above.

I tested changing the theme to a number of other ones and the highlight colour remains the bright blue.  I also tried creating a new theme with a different colour highlight and it doesn't change like it does in SL2.

Also, 360 shows the theme in the dropdown in it's own category 'This Project' and when you right click you cannot edit the theme

Hi Wendy and Lucie,

Thanks for clarifying that you're working with Storyline 360 and not Storyline 2. Wendy mentioned, "Also, 360 shows the theme in the dropdown in it's own category 'This Project' and when you right click you cannot edit the theme." The only Theme Colors that can be edited are Custom Theme Colors. If you right-click on the colors under the Built-In category, you'll notice you do not have the option to edit. This was also the case in Storyline 2.

Lucie, it looks like you used the Diversity template from the Content Library. Using a template will add the color under the This Project heading, and it will not be editable. If you want to make edits to the Diversity Template color theme, you'll have to create a new Custom theme.

Now, on to the issue you're seeing with the incorrect hover color. We are aware of an issue with Storyline 360 where a customized hover color for drag items and drop-down questions does not display correctly on published HTML5 output. For example, I created a test project and published to Flash only and HTML5 only. The dropdown color should be green (Custom 2). As you can see in those links, the hover color is correct in Flash, but not in HTML5. You'll also notice it's not correct in Preview since Preview in SL360 shows HTML5 content.

Hopefully this helps explain the behavior you're seeing. I'm going to add your experience to the issue report, and I'll come back and update this thread as soon as we receive more information from Quality Assurance. In the mean time, you'll want to use the Flash output, since it displays the correct hover color.

Hi Alyssa, thank you for this return.

Actually I work with SL360. Thank you for the additional explanations regarding the use of color themes. I note it for the continuation ;-)

Unfortunately I can not publish in flash, so I hope that an update will fix this problem quickly (my final delivery should not take place before the end of March), otherwise I will try to use another type of question.

Thanks to all and see you soon !

Sorry Alyssa - didn't pick up it was CL template - doh! I thought that was the name Lucie had given it when she created it.

Thanks for the explanation.

I think I might have the same problem so wondering if this was determined to be a "bug" and is being addressed?  My hover on a drop down question is aqua, although I deleted this color  the theme colors for my course.  Please see attached PDF.  What am I doing wrong or how can I get rid of this pesky aqua?  Thanks!

Alyssa Gomez

Hi there Lisa! You're right, this is a bug in Storyline 3 and Storyline 360. A customized hover color for drag items and drop-down questions does not display correctly on published HTML5 output.

Try testing the Flash output to see if it looks correct there, and then we'll know that you're seeing the same bug. I'll be standing by!

Lisa Ferris

Yes, the color is correct in the Flash version. Thanks very much!

Hey everyone,

I have some great news!
We just released another update for Storyline 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here

This update fixes the issue where the hover color for drag items and drop-down questions was always blue in HTML5 output, even if you customized it in your theme colors.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
