Changing character expressions when dragged/dropped
Oct 25, 2012
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what trigger I need to use to change a character's expression when that character is dragged/dropped. Right now I have two states for each character - 'normal' and 'happy'.
The user will be asked to choose a character, and drag it into the picture spot on the passport.
I've set triggers for the state to change from normal to happy when the mouse is hovered over, or when the user clicks.
But what I would really like to do is have the 'happy' state remain if the user selects that image and drops it into the passport.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,
If I'm understanding you correctly, you can create a trigger so that:
Action: Change state of:
On Object (a character)
To state: Happy
When: Object dropped on
Object: the character
Dropped on: your target
At least it worked in a really quick demo I created just now!
Hi Melissa,
Rebecca is correct. I just tested this myself also. Here is a screenshot of the Trigger Wizard that I did.
Thanks Rebecca and Andy.
After inserting Rebecca's trigger, I figured out that it was the secondary trigger of changing the character to 'happy' on mouseover that was causing my issues. So now the characters don't smile when moused over, but they do smile once they're chosen for the passport.
Much appreciated!
