Changing default flash quality settings
Aug 12, 2013
We are experiencing a bit of problems with a course for a large customer.
First of all there is a problem showing the font in a crispy quality, but I have read in other threads that this is a 'bug' in Storyline. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. To me it is an important and basic feature that should not cause problems in such an expensive authoring tool.
Anyway, our second issue is, that when we launch the course here in the Company, the course is playing in Flash quality "high" - which it should. But when the customer launches the same course, it launches in flash quality "low".
So I opened the published html file and see that the standard is set to "best" in the html. I am just wondering, if this can cause the clients course to run in "low" and ours in "high"? Should we really manually change the published html files every time then? Or is it a flash setting that can be changed default on the customers' computers?

Hi Rene,
Are you able to confirm that the client's computers match the requirements outlined here?
Additionally, you may want to review this thread where Peter includes an unsupported work around to change the files after publishing.
Hi Ashley,
Thanks for your reply and input. However, our issue is concerning the published story.swf file and not the mp4 videos. So the problem is a bit different. But it's a good idea to double check that the customer has Flash Player 10, so I have done that And I have changed the story.html file, so the flash setting is "high" instead of "best". So we will see if that does the trick.

Thanks Rene - the unsupported option that Peter mentions is focused on replacing your videos with the original mp4 videos after publishing, and it has retained the original videos quality settings.
Let me know if the other things you tried resolve this!
