Changing default scene numbering in SL3

Oct 12, 2020

Good Day;

I wanted to organize my courses to reflect a more accurate organization flow...

Currently, SL3 shows scenes as 1.x, 2.x, 3.x, etc. So my course becomes...

  • Introduction and Overview (scene 1)
  • Module 1 (scene 2)
  • Module 2 (scene 3)
  • Summary and More information (Scene 4)

I would like it to be more like...

  • Introduction and Overview (Scene 0)
  • Module 1 (Scene 1)
  • Module 2 (Scene 2)
  • Summary and More Information (Scene 4)

Is this something that can be done easily?

Hi John,

I don't believe that you can change the scene numbering system. However, one option you could use is to create a number of scenes at the start, place your introduction in scene five, for example, if that is your final scene, and label it "Introduction" and then start at Module 1 in Scene 1 etc.

Once you have finished, all you need to do is to allocate Scene 5, or whatever scene its finally ends up being, as your Starting Scene.

If you end up initially creating ten scenes and only use eight, when you delete unused scenes, the Introduction scene will simply be renumbered to the last one on your list.
