Changing State of Next Button When Revisiting Page in Storyline 2
Feb 23, 2017
Here is what I am trying (unsuccessfully) to accomplish:
1. On initial visit, Next button is disabled until timeline ends.
2. When timeline ends, Next button is active.
3. When revisiting a page, the Next button is active when timeline begins.
What occurs is that the Next button is disabled until the end of the timeline and then becomes active. However, on revisiting the page, the Next button is again disabled. (See screenshot for settings I'm using when this occurs.)
When I deleted the trigger to disable the Next button at start of timeline the revisit function works, but on the initial visit the Next button looks active from the beginning of the timeline even though it is not. Can I not have it both ways ... disabled Next button at start of timeline on initial visit, then active Next button at start of timeline on revisit?

HI Paughnee
here is one way of doing it
Yay! That did the trick! Thank you for the quick response.
Yay! Glad to help - good luck with your project Paughnee!
Well, I thought it worked, but when applied across multiple pages of a course it was only working on the first page. A colleague said I would probably need to use a variable for every page (e.g, "page1complete") rather than just one variable applied to all pages. I haven't tried this yet -- but thought I'd share my further experiences.
Hello Paughnee - Glad to see that Wendy was able to assist you here. Variables do work across the course, so you would need multiples as you mention.
I wanted to pop in and welcome you to E-Learning Heroes :)
Thank you, Leslie! As a SL novice, I have found this site to be incredibly helpful. I have found many answers here just by searching past discussions.
So you've been lurking ;) Love it! Glad you are finding the site helpful.
I am having a similar problem in 360. I also can't find the variable initialVisit. Is that something I create myself or can I download it somehow? It doesn't appear in your search function.
Hi Valeta
yes initialVisit is a custom variable you create yourself. If you want to share your .story file or even just the slide you need help with someone can help you.
I will send it in a separate post. Thank you!
Hi Valeta,
