Changing states of objects on base layer through layers

Aug 23, 2017

Posted this as a reply in another thread since it was related, but since the post is old, figured it'd be best to create a new one. (This is similar to the thread here.)

I'm trying to get an avatar to change states based on media completion in other layers. The goal is to allow the poor fellow to close his mouth on the Base Layer when he's not "speaking." I've played with several triggers and variables (as you'll see when you open the file), but he remains stubbornly open-mouthed. :(

How can I get him to change states based on media completing in different layers on the slide? This is getting messy fast, but still no results.

Details: Using Articulate Storyline 2; yes, using the file locally; and version of Storyline is updated.

Thanks for sharing your file and allowing me to take a look, Jazzmine!

The first thing I noticed is that the audio "Email address 1st time" is missing from the base layer. Did you record that audio file directly in Storyline, or did you import the MP3?

Once we get the first audio file fixed, I can take a look at your triggers to ensure the others are working correctly.
