Let's say I have three circles on the starting page, which represent the three modules of my e-learning. The learner can choose which module he wants to start with. However, once someone has finished a module and returns to the starting page, I want it to be visually clear which module has been completed, How can I do this?
Hi Brigit - the attached .story file could be adapted to this, you would just need to start with all the menu items set to "Normal" rather than "Disabled".
It is pretty much the same concept as you are looking for - hope this helps.
That's a great looking template from Tom, however, there is one fundamental difference.
I believe that his check marks appear based on the "Visited" state once you have clicked the circle, just before the "hop" to the section is made - so you get a slight glimpse of the check. This is something that a number of designers have posted about here, wondering how they can stop.
In my template, the state change happens based on a variable change once you reach the end of the section, when you hop back to the menu, so you do not get the tick appearing prematurely - the changed state happens once the Menu Timeline (re)starts based on whether the section has been visited or not.
It's only a slight and subtle difference, but one you should be aware of.
I have been getting around this issue by putting a hotspot over the circle and using that to trigger the jump rather than the circle, that way the navigation is handled with a hotspot (or transparent shape), while the progress is handled via your variables...

Hi Brigit,
Bruce probably covered this, but you could also have a look at : http://community.articulate.com/downloads/p/73395.aspx

That is absolutely true.
