Changing Storyline Master slides after course created...?

Dec 15, 2015

Hi there - lesson learned here - I should have waited until my client had their colours and fonts identified before creating courses... in any case, I have created 6 courses in Storyline, but now have to go back and change colours and fonts across the board.

Is there a way to change the Master slides and have the changes reflected in the already designed slides?

You can change the masters and force the slides that use them to update.

On the View tab, choose slide master. some changes have to be made on the top thumbnail, which is the master for the master. Other changes can be made on individual layouts, which may have names like "blank", "end slide". Mine have a branded master, then a bunch of layouts with approved background colors.

Changing will only affect new slides that are created, or slides whose layout is changed.

To get the change to show on already created slides, go to STORY VIEW and select all the slides you want to change, for example all those that use the "Blank" layout.  On the home tab, choose Layout, and select any other layout. Then choose layout and select the "blank" layout. All the selected slides will be updated to the new "blank" layout.

After you have changed the master once, say, on course 1, then to change course 2, you import one slide from course 1. It will bring its master in with it. You can change the layout on the slides in course 2, and delete the slide from course 1.

The most difficult and time-consuming part will be changing the colors on the master.
