Changing the state of a character when a motion path intersects an icon

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble triggering state changes. I want my character (Tony with his hard hat) to change states when an icon in motion (yellow man) intersects a fixed one (blue star)--see attachment.

I've set up the triggers for when the icons intersect but the don't all work correctly... how can I figure out where the problems are?

I was wondering if:

  • The order of the states might have an effect?
  • The triggers for the 7 different states should be on the moving icon or the fixed icon?
  • How to know if my triggers are in the right order.
