Good day. I am trying to finish a course in storyline but I am having a real great challenge about enabling a button.
That "submit" button should only appear when the course taker is done typing his/her answers on the boxes provided. I am really having difficulties doing it. I would really appreciate it if someone would share how to do it or if it is possible in storyline. Thanks.
I don't know if there is a more elegant way to accomplish what you are trying to do, but I have done so using the text entry fields to change the state of some off-screen shapes from hidden to normal first and using these state changes to control the state of your submit button.
Basically, I have added an off-screen shape for each response and set the initial state to hidden. I have then added a trigger to change the state of each hidden shape to normal when the control loses focus on the the respective text entry. Finally, I have added a trigger to change the state of the submit button to normal when the state of all of the hidden shapes is normal.
I attach a very rough draft that hopefully will make my explanation clearer - I hope it helps!
Did you download the file that Phil shared here? I believe that was his "elegant" solution. I'm not sure if he's still subscribed to this thread as it's a bit older, but you could use the contact me link on his profile to reach out to him directly if you'd like.

I hate doing this Anthony but I think this is a more elegant way of doing it, I have changed your file
Thanks Phil.
Agree that this is more elegant and thanks for the input - just goes to show that many of us are still on a learning curve with SL
I hope you are well and being kept busy.

Awesome. You guys rock! Thank you for helping me out.
Hi Phil,
I have the same question as Vince and would love to see the "more elegant way" - could you describe it please?
Many thanks.
