Hi there, I want to Change a variable after clicking the submit button... is this possible? in SL2 it was... in SL360 it seems impossible...? the variable has to be changed after the interaction (question) has be done. thx for help! Oliver
we tried this and it doesn't work - it made some confusing stuff.
our Goal is, to let the user 20 of 30 questions answer which are in a question bank. the user can navigate through the questions, once he has answered a question (submitted) this one shouldn't be seen by him no more (the program shall go Forward). this all worked fine in SL2 but now in SL360 it doesn't work anymore. i attached a example file, which holds all Triggers, but only 3 questions... may you can have a look on it.
Thank you for sharing your file! I tested it in Storyline 360, and it appears that the variables are working correctly. Could you have a look at this screen recording and let me know if you're seeing something different? Thanks!
thx for the Screen Video - if you do it in that way all works fine. But, if you click on submit/senden before answering, you can't leave the slide (you'll be forced to answer), but it counts down, too. In SL2 it didn't Counts down after not answering...
In the screenshot you see how i implemented the Triggers in SL2 If the user answered the question and clicked submit all Triggers were done. now it leaves the slide with the "submit interaciont Trigger" without the following Triggers.
You can add triggers to the submit button, but they will not be executed unless they are in the queue BEFORE the submit trigger. Once the submit trigger is executed, all later triggers are ignored. Try moving them up the list.
thx Walt for your reply, yes that is what we found out and it's different to SL2, there are Triggers were even executed after the submit trigger. is it possible to set a value only if a question is REALLY answered?
Seems like a lot of work, but maybe you could set it when submit is clicked if one of the answers is in selected state. (True is selected OR false is selected, etc.)
Yes, thats what I tried. But it*s not only a lot of work, it seems very difficult for all kind of questions. How to check selected for a Word Bank or any Free Form interaction?

Does it work to add the trigger to the submit button before the submit trigger?
yes, but we want to be sure, that the question was truly answered, so thats why we want to have it after the submit Trigger.
Did you try it on the layers?
when the timeline starts on the Try Again, Incorrect, and Correct
