Chapter check with Quiz results
May 02, 2022
Hello,
I hope anybody can help me. I learned Storyline 360 months ago and I learned with youtube and trial and error triggers, quiz settings and solutions for my requests (and translated it in my german version for me). But now I can't get further.
I built a template course you will find ATTACHED. I have to find a solution for the following request:
- A course with chapters (structure: overview page, scenes with chapters with separate question bank and result slide)
- Every chapter should end with a quiz (graduades quiz)
- Task/Problem: When a quiz is finished SUCCESSFULL than there should appear a check mark on the first overview slide - belonging to the refering chapterbox. I tried already with leaf triggers. But that doesn't work. Can anyone help me please?

Hi, Nicol, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨
Thank you for sharing your .story file!
My suggestion for you would be to use States, instead of Layers, for the checkmarks.
Let me know if that works!
Hello Maria,
Your solution with a custom state works as desired.
Thank you very much for the quick and useful response.
Can I ask you a further question belonging to that please?
A lot of training participants should pass that course. Is it possible to save these checkmarks when they stop the course, close it (in our LMS) and continue it another time? Now when we start the course again the checkmarks are not saved.
Hi Nicol,
If you would like the objects in your slides to retain their states when the slides are revisited, you can set the revisit behavior of your slides to 'Resume saved state'.
Hope this helps!
Hi, Nicol.
It looks like you set the tracking options to "When the learner completes a quiz", and selected all three quizzes.
The way multiple completion criteria works is that the first one that gets completed is the one reported:
What is likely happening is when the user completes one of the quizzes and leaves the course, it's marked as completed, and they cannot continue.
If your design allows, can you create a fourth results slide combining the results of the three previous ones, and tracking based on that slide instead?
