If it happens in preview then it is unlikely to be the internet explorer issue. Which fonts are you using? Is it every font? If it is then you probably need to reinstall storyline.
I agree with the other comments here that seeing the wrong font in Storyline preview isn't something we would expect. I'm going to open a case on your behalf so our Support Engineers can have a closer look at this.
Oswald and Lato are automatically installed on your computer when you install Articulate Storyline 360. It could be that there are two instances of the same font installed on your system, and that's causing the error you're seeing. Here's how you can fix it:
Access the Fonts folder from your Windows Control Panel, then right-click and delete all Oswald and Lato fonts.

Hi Paris, take a look at this thread: https://articulate.com/support/article/Learners-See-the-Wrong-Font-or-Missing-Letters-in-Internet-Explorer
There are known issues with fonts on certain browsers and there are some things you can do to mitigate the issues.

They'll reach out to you soon!
It happens with Oswald and Lato. Oswald seems to have come through with the Articulate 360 template I used.

Give that a try, and let me know if it works on your end!
I have done as you suggest, but I’m still getting missing characters. Is the file working when you open it?
Is it because I added text in Mandarin traditional and Mandarin simplified? I could add those as images since it is just for the visual.
Okay – new information.
The characters are missing when I preview the project
The characters are correct when I preview the scene or slide
Hi Paris,
That's all incredibly helpful information, thank you! I'll be sure to share this with Eric so he can continue helping you in your case.
Thanks everyone for all your help. Eric in the engineering department was able to help me. In this case, I needed to turn off modern text rendering.
Excellent support like this is what keeps me working with Articulate.
Thanks so much for that feedback, Paris! I'll be sure Eric gets the message. 😁
