Checking 'Pause base timeline' doesn't pauses the audio
Aug 06, 2013
Hi,
I am trying to write a custom play/ pause logic and as per the suggestions on this forum, I figured out that we can achieve this functionality by creating a new layer and then checking its option 'Pause base timeline'.
It worked fine (means it was able to pause the timeline as well as the audio) as long as I kept that layer on individual slides.
My file has many slides so I decided to create a layer on master slide and use it for play/ pause purpose. So I removed the layers from individual slides and created a layer on master slide. in this case, it was able to pause the timeline only but audio is not getting paused. It keeps playing though the timeline is paused.
As a workaround, I have to write play media/ pause media triggers (that too on every slide) along with the show/ hide layer logic.
My query is, why this works (pausing of audio) when the layer is on individual slide and and doesn't work when the layer is on master slide?
Thanks in Advance

Hi M K! Would you be able to share your .story file either here in the forums or here privately so that we can have a look at this?
I'm having a similar problem in Storyline 2. Here is my post https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/custom-menu-using-a-new-slide-master-layer-not-pausing-media-and-base-layer-timeline.
Was there a fix for this? Thanks.
