Chinese characters not rendering properly
Sep 17, 2018
Hi team,
We're currently developing a Chinese translation for one of our clients. We exported the English course into a Word doc, got it translated and imported it back into Storyline. The import went smoothly, but the published course didn't render properly.
Not only are the characters in consistent (some look like bold sans-serif type and some look like the traditional characters), but some of the characters show up as just gibberish. I've attached a screenshot of what one of the slides looks like.
Is there a way to resolve this? Would really appreciate some assistance. Thank you!

Hi Ria!
Happy to help. First, I'd like to get a little more information from you.
Hi Alyssa,
Thanks for getting back to me! I appreciate your help.
Hi Ria!
I would first install a Chinese font on your system, like DengXian. Then, reopen the Storyline file, and you should see an improvement.
Let me know if that helps!
I tried installing a Chinese font to make everything uniform, but it made all the text in Storyline disappear :( it won’t let me preview the course either.
Yikes, Ria! I'd say it's time to hand this over to our Support Engineers. They're rockstars, and you'll be in good hands!
Please send your original project file to us by clicking here, as well as the Chinese font installation file. They'll do some further testing and let you know what they find!
