"Clean" Executable File

Oct 03, 2018

Good Day,

I have followed the Storyline 360: Publishing a Course for CD or Other Local Media (David Fair) for 3 created pre-hire assessments.  These assessments are placed on a network drive for all our locations to obtain and use.

I noted the Zip file extraction places several files and the executable onto the desktop.

Because we have so many locations and many different levels of employees required to obtain the file, we would like to know if there is a "cleaner" approach to only obtain the executable on a desktop (maybe a drag and drop) like our old created versions (different software).  If I am not mistaken, a CD would also launch all those files and they would still need to pick the executable from the sources...

Thanks!

Hi Janet,

Your learners will need all the files accessible (on their local drive) and the .EXE file is the one they'll use to launch. If they're on a Mac the .EXE file won't work, so you'd want to instruct them to use the story.html file to launch it.

I haven't seen a community method to create a cleaner or more streamlined process - but I'm always impressed by the creative ideas here, so I hope someone's able to chime in!
