How do I purge the story content to only include content currently used in the project? I want to use my favorite template; however, when I delete mp4 videos, they still appear in my story content, making my file too large.

Hi Elizabeth,

Are the videos screen recordings? If so you can remove them from the screen recording drop down list as shown in this tutorial.

If there are other videos that you had inserted, I've seen them linger before and typically doing a "save as" and then closing the file and reopening it causes that refresh to occur and the items to disappear.

The videos are mp4 background videos. I have tried save and save as. I've been working on this project for a couple of weeks and I close it daily.
I created this project originally with background video #1, then deleted it and used background video #2. Then I decided to create a master page with video #2 so I could delete video #2 from multiple pages. When I produce, the content folder contains video #1 (which is not used anywhere) and about a dozen video #2s (should only be 1 since this is used in a master and was deleted from the individual pages.

I manual deleted video #1 from story content; however, the project would no longer work.
I have also tried importing the entire project and then opened a new project and only imported the first slide. Video #1 was still showing in the content (although it is no longer used).

Hi Elizabeth,

Are you able to share a copy of this .story file with us? If you've deleted the video and then saved and closed the project and then reopened it, any deleted assets should be removed. We don't remove them right away so that you can utilize the "undo" button to return them to the course, but it sounds like you're saving and closing more than once.

You'll also want to confirm that you're using the latest update, which is Update 11 for Storyline2.

If you can't share it publicly you can also send it along to me here.

Also, just as an FYI responding via email includes your signature here and you're welcome to edit the post to remove that information.
