Rather: A quiz text-entry field with a suggested value like: "Email". When the learner clicks that field, I'd like for it to be automatically cleared so the learner doesn't have to clear it manually before entering text.
OK, that works. Now where did this became confusing.
One more trigger is needed in the attached .story: If the tab order is set and the Username field is active, the content remains, even though the TE field Username has focus.
Further, if the learner tabs to the Email field, the content remains visible there too.
Is there another trigger that can accompany the mouse over trigger to clear the contents on focus?

it sure does. I thought you said above you were using a quiz slide - this is just a normal slide in your example. Each time I answer a query you add another requirement to it...like accessibility/tab order.

You can remove the default text in the player if that's what you're asking

Perhaps when you post an issue you can give that detail - stops people wasting time trying to work out what you are after.
You can use a hover trigger to clear the contents
Hi Wendy,
My question was clear: Trigger mechanism - to clear content of Text Entry.
The video shows content clearing. I spent some time trying to identify how this is done.
I'll keep plugging away at it.
Thanks anyway.
Hi Sam
the difference is a TE object on a normal slide can be accessed via the trigger wizard and you can click it.
A fill in the blank TE object on a quiz slide you can't access the TE field from the trigger wizard.
All the best with your project.
I wasn't able to find any method to clear the text entry content on hover. Even setting the variable Text Entry to blank did not work.
I did find a lot of anomalies. Some good, some bad. I've uploaded a demo which has a workaround that, well, works.
Two triggers
Set the TE field to blank when the mouse hovers over
Set the TE field to what the user enters when control loses focus

See if the attached works for you.

I appreciate your help.
