Clearing interactions / button choices on page return

Is there a way to clear out previous button choices / interactions when a user goes back to that page? From my example below ("selection page"), the user must select a part of the tree, and a process acronym. The interaction is setup with variable to know which page or layer to show.
Say for example that the user chooses Leaves and BLT, and once on that page realizes that they meant to choose Stem and LLW. When the user goes back is there a way to clear out previous selections? What is happening is that it does not, If the user clicks on a part of the tree on return it remembers what was selected in the acronym and jumps to that page.
Thank you for any help!

Hi Teresa,
And WELCOME to the community!!!
There sure is a way to solve what you're seeing! On your base layer, click on the gear icon and in the when revisiting dropdown, choose "reset to initial state". This should do the trick!
Let us know if you need further help!
