click through, drag and drop movement demo
May 08, 2013
Hello everyone!
I'm new to Storyline (just this week!) and I'm trying to create an interactive demo. I've had a look through the forums and wasn't able to find an answer, so I'm hoping someone out there knows how to do this!
I've recorded a video of my actions with the screen recorder and selected the 'try mode' - so the user needs to click on the hot spot in order to move to the next screen. That's all fine and dandy and works for most parts of the video, but in some parts of the recording, I'm selecting an object and dragging it onto the screen. Is there a way to stop the video until the user clicks on the hot spot and the video continues to show the movement of the drag and drop? Once it reaches the next hotspot the video stops again until user clicks on it, to move onto the next screen.
I've tried setting the trigger to play media when the user clicks and then to jump to the next slide when the media completes but that hasn't worked.
Thanks in advance,
- Em

Emily,
You may be able to accomplish what you need with Action Fine Tuning. This allows you to determine the start and stop points of each section of that try mode:

Thanks for your quick response Mike! I don't think that's exactly what I'm looking for so I'll keep looking. But Action Fine Tuning looks interesting, I'll give it a go on another project
Cheers
