Clickable Area in iOS Issue

Jun 26, 2018

We recently updated our Storyline 360 installs and are having an issue with textareas in iOS. When users click on a text area, the input isn't focusing and the keyboard isn't coming up. Upon further investigation, we found that the users must click on the top line of the textarea input in iOS. This is not an issue in other browsers. Is there a workaround or fix for this?

I've attached a screenshot highlighting the clickable region of a textarea in iOS.

Hi there Ryan!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble typing in a text field on an iOS device. Let's see if we can nail down why this is happening!

First, can you send a copy of your file to our team for testing by clicking here?

Also, can you let us know what iOS version and browser you were using when you noticed this problem?

Thanks!

We're running into a similar issue where text entry fields will bring up the iOS keyboard, but then close it instantaneously. We've tested on different sites and devices but keep coming across it on Apple mobiles - Android remains fine.

We didn't have it before, so we tested some old published files laying around and still had the issue. Apple must've changed something with iOS11... But it would still much appreciated if the Articulate devs could look into this.

Oddly enough Storyline 2 files with text fields still seem to function perfectly fine on Apple devices.

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to report that we released Update 22 to Storyline 360 today, which includes:

Fixed: On mobile devices, the on-screen keyboard wouldn't always appear when tapping a text-entry field. In some cases, the keyboard would appear briefly, then disappear.
