I had a question from a client today about what happens when the links to outside resources change. The client wanted to know if it would be possible to update the links in a Storyline module without going into Storyline, changing the links, and re-publishing.
Is it possible to do that? I think the client obviously doesn't want to have to go back to the Storyline developer when the links to outside resources inside the course change, but I don't know if it's possible to update without re-publishing the module.
Hi, Tracy -- Thanks so much for reaching out here! I am not aware of a method to suggest for changing links or resources within your module without republishing, but perhaps others in the community will have ideas they may be able to share.
Sorry Matthew, Curiosity got the best of me. So this is a url redirect on a WebObject index page. After you publish the file, you can at anytime (without Storyline) go into the story_content\ webObjects\ (encrypted) folder, and change the index.html with a text editor to point elsewhere. Seems to work ok.
My story is just a WebObject on a slide, so you'll have to re- target it to the Test folder that contains the index with the redirect code.
Hi, Tracy -- Delighted to hear you are enjoying the community so much, and thank you, Matthew and Richard, for the assistance you are providing here! Much appreciated. :)

Thanks for the answer, Christie! I would be surprised if there was a method to do this, but I thought I'd ask anyway. :)
Certainly, Tracy -- Never hurts to ask! :)

WOW! Absolutely fantastic, Matthew--thank you! That's an incredible tutorial--and of course I signed up for your tips, tricks, & tools. :)
:D
I was able to try this out, and it works like a charm, Richard!
What I love about this solution is I can implement it with courses that have already been created & published. Very cool!
