Clonable objects
Aug 28, 2013
Hi everybody.
I am trying to create an activity in which students will have to drag and drop different phrases to describe two different videos. One of the phrases will have to be dragged for both videos, but I don't want to have two identical phrases on-screen, otherwise I'll be prompting them to use that phrase twice.
I tried creating a second layer, but it does not allow me to link the trigger to the first layer (at least I could not figure out how).
Is there a way to simply make an object clonable (i.e., once clicked or dragged, it will make a copy of itself)? I know some software can do this, but I don't know if Storyline can.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
-Carol

Hi Carol and welcome to Heroes!
What you're describing of "cloning" an object after dragged, doesn't sound possible - but could you make duplicates of the one phrase that sit on top of each other to begin with - so that it looks like the original stayed, and you have the option to drag it again somewhere else?
Ashley, that is a great, simple, elegant solutions that did not cross my mind. Thank you!!
Thanks Ana! That's what we're here for. Let us know if you need anything else!
