Closed captioning not loading in Chrome

Aug 17, 2020

Hi,

Courses published Articulate 360. Tried both HTML 5 only and HTML 5 Flash fallback.

Web version works fine.

Loaded both types of published files into TalentLMS. Launch course in latest version of Chrome, closed captioning does not work. Exit course and go back in, still using Chrome - closed captioning works. BUT, the issue doesn't happen every time.

Issues does not replicate in Firefox.

My LMS partner looked into it, said it replicated the issue in SCORM Cloud, so they don't believe it is them or the browser.

Any thoughts? I have a major client going live where CC is critical.

Thanks!

Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for sharing the details of what you're running into, and what your LMS provider was able to find!

Since the course is also showing odd behavior in SCORM Cloud, I've opened a case on your behalf to connect you with a support engineer and lend you a hand! Feel free to share your file using your personal upload link here.

We'll get notified immediately and get back to you as soon as we're done testing!

Hi Stephanie,

I have some exciting news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 82, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the fixes we’ve included is:

Closed captions in Google Chrome might not load initially or when resuming a course.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!
