closed captioning persistent and submenus
Oct 27, 2016
I sure could use some guidance. I have closed captioned a presentation using the information outlined by Brian from Articulate at http://cdn.screenr.com/video/dc889f82-ba4c-4539-90f1-441057ce9e5a.mp4. The closed captioning persistent works well. The problem is with my drop-down submenus. As the closed captioning is playing, if a learner hovers over one of my two internal submenus, the closed captioning disappears. The learner has to re-engage the cc-button to make the captions reappear. I’d like my learners to be able to hover over the menu without the captioning disappearing. Rather than a hover trigger, do you think I’d be better off with using a User clicks trigger? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks much
Johnna

Hi there Johnna!
Are your drop-down submenus on layers? If so, my first thought is that this could be fixed by adjusting your layer settings.
It might be helpful if you could share your file, or even just a few slides, so we can take a closer look.
Dear Alyssa,
You were right. Thank you. First, my menus are in layers as is my closed captioning. second, when i went to the various layer's properties and deselected hide other slide layers, it worked. I appreciate your help with this.
