collating results across modules

Hi all

I apologise if this sounds like a silly question (or if I could have found the answer easily myself in the tutorials), but is it possible to collate results across separate course modules? My client wants to split their customer care course into eight modules that are available to complete separately, and across these modules there are several scenario-type questions to which I want to award points. It would be great to show them a points tally, not only at the end of each module, but at the end of the course.

There isn't a formal quiz or assessment as such; it's just a nice thing to show the learners how well they did with their scenarios.

Hi Anne,

Sorry, but while the current version of Storyline can do some pretty fancy complex scoring, there's no "out-of-the-box" ability to communicate between modules after their published.

Two things:

  1. Does your LMS have the ability to collate module scores into a learner's transcript? Some (most) LMS's have the ability to set up a course as the main structure and be able to add any number of content items (modules). Each module is scored independently with an overall score of completion of the course.
  2. I've seen on this forum where others have created a Leaderboard of sorts where data from a module is passed out of Storyline via variables and posted to a separate website or spreadsheet. This is more advanced and requires some javascript, but it is possible. Search this forum for more ideas on that method.
