"color" a map activity questions on how to

Hello! I was wondering if someone could help me with thinking through the "how to" of what I would like to do. I am creating a map that I would like kids to "color." I have made paint buckets and brushes with various colors. I've tried changing the state of the brush to a color state based on the paint bucket the brush is dragged over. It isn't perfect and I'm open to suggestions. The other piece stumping me is the most efficent way to get the landforms to change color when highlighted with the color brush. Is that a hotspot or a shape attached to state changes and/or variables based on the brush color? Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you!

Hi eM
perhaps if you uploaded your .story file that might help someone give you some ideas if they can see the setup. Good luck with your project. I've recently downloaded an app from the Apple store called Colorfy - I love it - very relaxing.
Hello EM,
I created a sample for you to showcase how I would go about this. Hopefully you can use this technique to help you with your project.
Only the left leaf can be painted for this example.
Here is a sample.
Very cool Walt...Hope you have a nice Christmas break.
Thanks. You too.
We're giving our daughters-in-law adult coloring books for Christmas, as they really enjoy it.
Wow this is great Walt! I'll have to work my way through how the value triggers work but this was exactly what I was trying to do! Thank you so much!
Wendy - Colorfy looks great. I love that there are adult coloring books now, as I'd mostly exhausted the options for children. ;-)
I recently bought myself an adult colouring book with real pencils - I love it - I can't believe how relaxing it is and I'm so good at staying inside the lines now - lol. Merry Xmas Ashley hope you have a great New Year.
But sometimes it is ok to go outside the lines - let your creativity fly! I bought my (adult) sister one for Christmas, hope she appreciates it as much as I was excited about it! Have a Merry Christmas and happy New Year down under! ;-)
