I am at a loss on how to figure this out. Can someone take a look at this screen capture attached. The grey color that is filling up the screen behind the light box slide, how can I get rid of or change that color?
You didn't attach a screen capture. But I can still answer your question: There is no way to change or get rid of that color.
A lightbox automatically greys out the entire player to highlight the lightboxed slide and prevent clicking anything else in the player. This is a standard interface, used to make it clear that the user has to interact with the lightboxed content (even if that's just to close the lightbox).
If you don't want the standard lightbox effect, you could jump directly to the designated slide instead, without lightboxing it. You could also hide the NEXT button on that slide, so the user has to return to the previous slide.
