Colour scheme in imported quiz
Jun 05, 2013
I have created a short course in Storyline using the built-in colour scheme "olive green", and imported a quiz that I had previously created in Quizmaker. After publishing, I noticed that there was something odd about the colour scheme in the quiz. If I click "Submit" without first selecting an answer, I get an "Invalid answer" popup that is green, matching the colour scheme of the course and quiz. However, if I answer the question and click Submit, I get a feedback popup that is the default pale grey. I can't figure out why these two popups should be different colours; I've waded through all the settings in the Player menu and can't find anything that's set to grey. How can I get the feedback popup to be green as well?

Hi Julie,
I just tried to recreate this issue, but I wasn't successful. I pulled in a Quizmaker quiz with a green player template, but after inserting it into Storyline, the player reflected the default settings I had in Storyline.
Are you able to share the .QUIZ file here? I'd be happy to try inserting it into a project and see if I run into the same problem.
Thanks!
Actually, I think I just figured it out - at least, partly. I had assumed that the two dialog boxes were controlled by the same template element, but I just found the Feedback master and discovered that the feedback popups have their own master and settings. I'm still not sure where the settings for the "invalid answer" popup came from, but I have now made the feedback dialog match it, which is all I really wanted.
Thank you for the offer of help - it's great knowing you guys respond so quickly to questions!
Hi Julie,
No problem! Happy to hear you were able to get this working the way you wanted.
Thanks for the update!
Christine
I'm having the same issue - ie, if I make an invalid operation such as advancing without answering a quiz question I receive a gray popup which is difficult to read. I really need to change that color but don't know how.
Hi Brian,
The invalid answer pop up is not a "layer" that can be accessed, but you can control the colors of the pop ups using the player colors as described here.
You may also want to look at creating your own customized invalid answer message as described here.
