Complex calculation of results

Apr 14, 2013

I have quite a complex problem and not sure if there is a variable solution to this one, as I have tried adding progress bars and number variables to counters all to no avail.

I have 33 slides and between all of that are 5 scenarios with four different characters. Beside each character is a checkbox with the Submit button enabled.

I have a Results screen set up as well which is supposed to calculate which character you selected the most (kind of like a DISC test). The module is about soft skills communication training, so you watch how the character interacts or responds and then select the one you most identify with.

On the Results screen it is supposed to advise the learner which character they selected the most (can be numeric or in a graph) and then provide them with a prompt to click on the character to find out more.

The issue is there is no right or wrong answer.

Can you advise how this can work for 4 different characters throughout 5 scenarios? I think my triggers and variables are cancelling each other out (the progress bar worked once this morning and then randomly stopped).

Thanks,

Ruba

Welcome to the community, Ruba!

Sounds like this should work. Any chance you can share more information about how you have the variables set up, or even share the .STORY file here?

Curious if you're using number variables, etc, for the character selection choices. You should be able to do this freeform, without having them scored, or report that score. Just use a number variable count to determine which character is displayed. Obviously, though, it's quite possible you're already doing this, it's just difficult to know how you have it set up without seeing the course :)

If your file is too large to post here, you can always create a quick mock-up course and share it here.

Thanks!

Christine
