Is there a way to compress the *.story file? My customer asked me to divide a module into several pieces, so I saved each scene as a new story file. But they each are the same size as the original full *.story file. How do I bring them down to their appropriate size? TIA
Is your customer aware that the compression happens after publication and will significantly decrease in size? For instance, the .story I just finished is 24mb, but is 2.2mb after publishing it to html5.
Hi Kate - if you do want to bring the file size down on the published output for CD or any other format, you can try changing the quality settings on the publish screen. When on the publish scree, click the Optimized for standard delivery link.
Can you tell me more about why you're looking to decrease the file size? Do you have the original Storyline file, or do you only have the published output file?

Good point. I tried publishing it for the CD output and the story itself didn't compress. It will ultimately be in web format, so I'll try that...
I think Storyline tries to keep the "publish to CD" as lossless as possible since you don't have to worry about upload/download as much.

Great advice, all! I'm already noticing a difference publishing to the web format. Whew!
