Compression of video

Mar 30, 2020

In SL 360 I know you can set the video to not compress but on a project I am currently working on the video is set to automatically compress and it is grayed out.  How do I get it to not compress?

Hi Drew,

Yes, by default, if the video you used on the project does not match the supported MP4 profiles (baseline, main, and high) or if it was edited with Storyline's built-in video editor, it will be compressed automatically and you won't have the option to change the setting.

If you want to uncompress the video, you may want to check this free video conversion tool to convert the video to another format that is supported. Here is a video tutorial on how to use it.

If you're the one who created the video, it depends on the software/program you used to create it, you may be able to see the profile within that software and adjust as necessary.
