Conditional feedback in quiz

Feb 19, 2015

Hi there!

I'm building a quiz in Storyline 2 at the moment, which needs to work as follows:

  • On the first attempt, user gets simple 'Correct' or 'Incorrect' feedback for each question
  • On the results slide, user gets the chance the retry the quiz
  • On the second attempt, incorrect answers for each question trigger different feedback - giving explanations of the answers

I'm struggling with trying to get different feedback with Storyline's in-built template when retrying the quiz. Has anyone else had success with this kind of thing?

Thanks in advance!

Solved this by creating a variable that counted the amount of attempts on a quiz (increments when Retry Quiz button is clicked).

Then, within each Incorrect feedback pop-up I have two pieces of text that default to the Hidden state. If the attempts counter is 0 I show one piece of text, if it's greater than 0 I show the other.

Feel a bit schizophrenic answering to my own thread but thought the answer may be useful for anyone else that has the same issue!
