Conditionnal seekbar buttons play and refresh dont'work
Jan 09, 2019
Hi,
Sorry for my english grammar as it's my second language.
I'm working to create a brand-new corporate template with the modern player and the new conditionnal seekbar. (It's my first time with the modern player.)
Our team wants to have the option to block navigation when cliquable items must be visited before go to next page, or for compliant trainings.
I want to test the conditionnal bar to avoid the time consuming way to work with triggers, variables, etc.
So the conditionnal seekbar seems to be the way around for more efficiency.
In this example published by Allison, we can:
- Use the play/pause button to pause timeline /sound et resume it
- The refresh button starts over timeline from the beginning, even if the slide is not completed
- As long the sound is not complete, the next button is inactive
My corpo template file (in preview AND on Review) don't have the same reaction:
- refresh button is active but leads to nothing
- play button is unstable, sometimes it worked, sometimes not.
it happened to somedy else yet? I'm trying to start over from scratch, to see if it's not a glitch...
I understand the restricted navigation comes from the menu (restricted option checked). We don't need to restrict all pages, so I can't go with the menu option to restrict prev/next buttons. OFr a workaround, I saw that we can put a variable on the audio or timeline and trigger to change the state of player next/prev buttons. But there's no way to put a trigger on refresh and play buttons?
Thank you

Hi Marie-Pascale!
In some cases, you may notice that the Rewind button at the right end of the seekbar doesn't actually start the slide over from the beginning.
The behavior of the Rewind button is determined by the “When revisiting” property for each slide. There are three options to choose from:
What revisiting setting are you using with your slides? Can you tell me more about how the play button isn't working correctly?
Hi Alyssa,
I just remark the same thing in my "from scratch" test. Usually we use "resume save state" because we dont wan't the slide to start over and over when revisiting and we put a variable on sound to be stop if the slide has been viewed.
If we put the option "reset to initial state", and any variables are trigerred in this slide, did the variables stay activated ?
Hello Marie-Pascale,
If your triggers are based on variables, then the slide properties will not affect this behavior.
Take a look at my example attached.
Thank you for this example Leslie!
With the slides parameters to "reset to initial state", it worked fine.
Now I have to convince the team the slides will restart each time viewed! ;-)
Have a great day.
Awesome news, Marie-Pascale! I hope you have a wonderful day too.
