Connecting scenes when slides are optional

Apr 01, 2016

I have two scenes. I want the second scene to start automatically after all the slides have been visited in scene 1. The trick is that the slides on scene 1 do not have a specific order in which the participant can access them. They can choose any slide they want and go in any order that they want in scene 1. So I dont necessarily know which slide will be the last one they click on before they advance to scene 2. Hopefully i'm making sense.

Hi Martha,

That certainly makes sense - and thanks for reaching out here. Since you don't know what order they'll be visiting them in, I assume they could also revisit a slide as well? I think you'll want to look at tracking a variable based on the slide timeline starting or ending, and ensuring that all slides are set to resume saved state. So you could do look at including a trigger to add 1 to a variable and when the user clicks the next button and the variable equals X it advances to scene 2?

This may not be making a *ton* of sense on a Friday afternoon...but hopefully it gets you started and if you could share what you've got set up so far, we're happy to take a look at that and offer some more specifics.

Martha,

The Mixed Navigation on the attached story may be similar to what you want. The user can visit the slides in any order, but not until they visit them all can they advance. In this case, they go to an end slide, but could just as easily go to another scene.

You would just need to change the trigger that makes the end button visible. Change it to jump to the next scene.
