Connection Issues
Oct 20, 2014
This is probably an LMS issue, but we are having multiple learners complete courses, but it never sends the completion to the LMS. Based on best guesses, we think the course is being downloaded fully from the server, but loses connection during the playback. Our courses are only 5-10 minutes in length.
Is there anything we can do within Storyline to alert the user if the connection to the LMS is lost, so they don't have to restart the course from the beginning?

Hi!
Might this option help you out? http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-2/how-to-let-users-know-if-their-course-attempt-cant-be-saved-in-an-lms-in-the-event-of-an-error
Could be a LMS issue, could be a network issue, could be a content issue, etc. These types of issues can drive you crazy.
Hi Jeremy,
Gerry shared the article I would have as well - but you may want to also check this article on troubleshooting common LMS issues.
Thanks for the response. I've been playing around, and so far, it looks like i'm going to have to:
1. Make sure the Prompt to Resume feature is set
2. Add to the master slide a javascript trigger to run LMSCommit() so it saves progress if it does lose connection
3. Change the g_bWarnOnCommitFail to true for each course.
if there is a connection issue, hopefully it will warn the learner, they can close the course, and restart where they left off.
Glad you found a method that'll work for you Jeremy!
