Content passing the wrong score to the LMS

Mar 20, 2014

Hello

I have a piece of content which includes a test at the end that the learner has to score 100% on to pass. It's published in SCORM 1.2.

On most occassions it works as expected but in about 0.5% of cases, it's reporting a pass to the LMS with a 0% score. I have just received the below code from our LMS provider who are suggesting the content is initially scoring 100% and a pass, and then changing this to a 0% (see code).

Does anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?

Any help greatly received. Thanks in advance.

Steven

Hi Steven,

When does your LMS think the score is changing - immediately after being set at 100%? Do you have any information about if the user is closing out of the course and then revisiting it, possibly changing the score? Are you able to determine if the behavior has only occurred for one user or on a particular type of set up (i.e. desktop vs. ipad, chrome vs. internet explorer)? I'd also recommend reviewing the troubleshooting steps here for common LMS tracking and reporting issues.

Thanks for your help.

It seems that if a user passes the course with 100%, leaves and re-enters, resuming from where they left off, fails the test, the course reports the score (which is less than 100%) but keeps sending 'passed' to the LMS. Even though it should change and send 'incomplete' to the LMS.

Not sure how to stop this happening. Any ideas?
